Truckee Tree Moss

I think I’m done with the snow. This has been one of Tahoe’s biggest snow years and I’m done with it. Done with digging out the cabin wagon in the morning, done with anything resembling a shovel, done with freezing temps, done with ice dams, done. Done. Done. Done. I think this is how people who live in cold climates feel after January with about two months of shitty weather still to come. Some cant even ski in it…can you imagine. One more snow pic, and I’m done. I’m always amazed at the neon green moss that grows on trees. I caught this pic one powder day along the Truckee. I always wanted to photograph the green moss, but it never really transferred to film. Then I caught a glimpse of this on the way to Squaw and pulled over to get my pic. Its almost a black and white photo with only green showing. The fresh powder covered the granite boulders which reminded me of clouds under the moss covered pines. I finally got my moss pic and climbed back over the snow bank to find the cabin wagon buried by a snow plow that just drove by…. back to the shovel.
