Sleepless in Tahoe

I actually slept like a baby one time in a tent on the Serengeti plains whilst listening to lions’ roar in the not too far distance. I was rocked to sleep in my tent by a monsoon hanging 1000ft above the dark abyss on a face. I once shared a room with a calf in a hut made of its shit and grass. I slept in a snow bivy I built and actually had to take my jacket off because it was too hot. But today, I cant sleep through the night on my new Tempur Pedic space age bed in a climate controlled house, with Egyptian cotton sheets, and down comforter. As I laid there wide awake at 4am listening to the Gremlins in my head contemplate the tasks I had yet to accomplish for my real job, I figured I might as well get up and go see what I can photograph in the early light and fresh trackless snow. I was right, I beat everyone out. The only tracks were mine and as I returned, I spotted a baby tree along my earlier track that was now covered but supplied the graphic element needed to compliment this little guy just trying to keep his head above the storm. I doubt he slept well that night either.
